Good news! Sydney has been moved to a NICU unit for less critical babies. She had her first breast milk via tube feeding. She's slowly improving!

Congrats and best of luck with everything! I know it can be scary with the ups and downs with a baby in the NICU, just try to keep positive and get rest for yourself! You will need it when she comes home (which looks like it could be soon from the way she looks!!!) She doesn't seem to have the gaunt, sickly look of a NICU baby, which has to count for something!
Just look at it this way, she needed to have some way of proving that she is just as much a fighter as her middle namesake! :-)

Congrats! Lance and Jalyce gave us the news and the link. Nate may remember how sick our youngest was when she was born---and the underdeveloped lungs was a portion of it...the NICU here in Cedar Rapids was a very familiar place to us for awhile! It's tough to think your little one has to go through so much----but I'm sure you will see the "fight" in her for years to come! :)
So glad to hear she is doing good. Hope you are hanging in as well. The stress of being a parent is soooo extreme sometimes! Hang tough you two, I know things will be great for yall! Much love!
The Clark family consists of Nathan and Aimee (keeper of the blog), and their daughter Sydney, who was born five weeks prematurely on Thanksgiving Day of 2007. Aimee and Nathan live in Iowa, and both work in the library field. Aimee is the Special Projects coordinator at the Milford Memorial Library, and Nathan is the director of the Ruthven and Emmetsburg Public Libraries. The family also includes Grant the American Staffordshire Terrier, Harry the Belgian Malinois, and cats Liam and Kit.
